Telescoping conveyor systems are the workhorses of parcel sortation — extending into trailers, retracting for storage, and handling thousands of packages per shift. When a Calgary parcel facility required professional installation of extendable conveyor equipment, Horizon Industrial’s team executed the scope efficiently and safely.
Project Overview
Horizon Industrial was contracted by a material handling systems integrator, to install telescoping conveyor equipment at a national parcel sortation facility in Calgary. The work required precise mechanical assembly, alignment, and integration with the facility’s existing sortation infrastructure.
Scope of Work
The installation involved mechanical assembly of telescoping conveyor units, levelling and anchoring, belt tensioning, and functional testing. Horizon’s millwrights coordinated directly with the systems integrator to ensure installation met manufacturer specifications and facility layout requirements.
Execution
The Horizon Industrial team mobilized with the tools and equipment required for the scope, completing installation to specification within the project timeline. All work was performed in compliance with the facility’s safety requirements, including virtual contractor orientation and site-specific safety protocols.
Results
Telescoping conveyor units were installed, tested, and handed off to the client operational and ready for sortation volumes. The project was completed on schedule, meeting the integrator’s installation milestones.
